			<title>A Russian Triumph</title>
			<link>http://www.onhamptonroads.com/reviews/musicreviews/a-russian-triumph-3.html</link>
			<description>
There is much to be said about Virginia Operas' debut production of Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin. But, the most important is that it was nothing less than a triumph. Based on the Alexander Pushkin novel, Onegin was heralded of the perfect example of Russian life. In similar fashion VOA production equally expressed what a perfect night at the Opera should be.

			<title>Yankee Doodle Doggy</title>
			<link>http://www.onhamptonroads.com/reviews/theatrereviews/yankee-doodle-doggy-4.html</link>
			<description>The Williamsburg Players (http://www.williamsburgplayers.org/)&amp;rsquo; production of George M! is the not the strongest musical I&amp;rsquo;ve seen on local stages in the past five years. To be more precise: it&amp;rsquo;s thoroughly and consistently mediocre. Joe Average across the board-virtually nothing stands out as &amp;ldquo;excellent&amp;rdquo; or &amp;ldquo;horrendous&amp;rdquo;. And there is no evidence of anything unique. I left not wanting more, but wanting better. The exception to this that proves the rule is the brief appearance of a dancing dog-the little guy is remarkable.

			<title>Tchaikovsky and Other Russians</title>
			<link>http://www.onhamptonroads.com/reviews/musicreviews/tchaikovsky-and-other-russians-2.html</link>
			<description>
When I heard the
Virginia Symphony was doing a concert of Russian music, I was looking forward
to something not usually heard. But when I discovered they were playing
Tchaikovsky&amp;rsquo;s 1812 Overture, my first
thought was, &amp;lsquo;Who is going to pay 50 bucks for something they can hear every
Fourth of July for free?&amp;rsquo; As it turns out, the concert wasn&amp;rsquo;t all about the Overture. It was just the icing on a
great big cake (or maybe a blintz).

			<title>Flower Power?</title>
			<link>http://www.onhamptonroads.com/reviews/theatrereviews/flower-power-2.html</link>
			<description>
Send Me No Flowers
at Little Theatre of Virginia Beach (http://ltvbonline.homestead.com/) is quite possibly the finest comedy
I&amp;rsquo;ve ever seen on local non-professional stages. It made me roar with laughter.
Not only is it remarkably funny, it&amp;rsquo;s positively unique.

			<title>A Modest Proposals</title>
			<link>http://www.onhamptonroads.com/reviews/theatrereviews/a-modest-proposals-2.html</link>
			<description>

As someone who grew up on
the Southside, I never travel to the Peninsula to see theater. It&amp;#39;s not because I don&amp;#39;t think there&amp;#39;s good
theater on the Peninsula, it just always seems like such a hassle, what with
gas being so expensive and tunnel traffic being what it can be. However, on Saturday night I took the trek
to Thomas Nelson Community College to see a production of a seldom produced
Neil Simon play, Proposals.  Proposals
is directed by Le&amp;#39;Royce Bratsveen the Artistic Director of Iron Street Productions (http://www.ironstreetproductions.com/),
the organization that has produced the play.
I was incredibly impressed with what I saw.
