Julie Williams recently joined the Peninsula Fine Arts Center (Pfac) staff as education
manager.
As education manager she will assist Program Director and Curator Michael Preble to carry out the mission of Pfac’s education department. This includes helping with the planning, development and implementation of educational programs and materials for schools and families in conjunction with changing exhibitions. She also will be in charge of the Hands On For Kids gallery. Williams comes to Pfac with extensive teaching experience and curriculum development in k-7, high school and college level, as well as in designing and implementing a variety of art classes for pre-schoolers through adults in non-academic settings. She most recently taught classes in visual arts foundation, drawing, art appreciation and art history at the Visual Arts Center, Tidewater Community College, Portsmouth, VA. Before that she taught at Isle of Wight Academy Peninsula Fine Arts Center is located at 101 Museum Dr., Mariners’ Museum Park, Newport News.
