Behind the Scenes
William R. Biddle Trible’s local staffing decisions for the Center were in keeping with the caliber of the design companies. Executive Director Bill Biddle leads an administrative team of three others -- communications director Bruce Bronstein, development director Jeanette Weaver and facility services director J. Paul FitzGerald -- along with a good-sized support staff including 300 student workers and volunteers and a passel of senior docents. The core team’s tasks include development of the entertainment roster, public outreach, fundraising and day-to-day operation of the huge physical plant. The team is sharp, well-informed, confident, experienced and - especially - devoted...I guess one could say they’re all very much in love with their work as well as the workplace.
My escort for the morning tour was Ms Weaver, who hit the ground running at The Ferguson only last June after holding a similar position at Union Seminary in Richmond. She and Mr FitzGerald -- an alumnus of CNU who once managed the 250-seat Gaines Auditorium on campus -- conveyed a quiet certitude about today and tomorrow and tomorrow at The Ferguson. The Center has little to be anxious about with this leadership team.
