ImageMTI just amazes me when it comes to their programs for getting children involved in the arts. First, they have their wonderful Broadway, Jr. series. This series takes full-size musicals and alters them a bit to make them do-able for middle school groups. A few of these shows are performed annually by middle schools in our area. Then there’s their Kids Collection, which are shows specifically designed for K – 6th graders. School Editions takes full shows and gears them for performance by high schools. The Disney Collection does the Disney brand of family shows. And the TYA (Theatre for Young Audiences) Collection is shows to be performed by adults for children. I don’t know of another publishing company that does nearly so much for bringing kids to the arts. And now they’ve done more...

The Broadway Teaching Lab is designed for directors of high school theatre. It’s a three-day intensive series of interactive workshops, seminars, and observation with Broadway professionals in the theatre capital of the world, New York City. It sounds amazing. I don’t even teach high school and I really want to go. I wonder if I could somehow write it off as a “business expense”…

Details about the lab follow:

That looks like an awesome experience. If you wanted to go, let me know. Looks like something I would be interested in going to too. Even though I'm not a theatre teacher, it would be nice to have in case I decide to help out with a production somewhere.
